Running a kiosk

Turn a shared screen or tablet into a check-in station.

A kiosk turns a shared display or tablet into an attendance station tied to one live session. Start a session first, then open the kiosk.

Open a kiosk

  1. Open Kiosk from the sidebar, or click "Open Kiosk" on a live session.
  2. Choose a kiosk mode: "Display class QR" or "Scan student QR".
  3. Select the live session to bind to and an orientation (landscape or portrait).
  4. Click "Launch kiosk".

The two modes

  • Display class QR — the screen shows a class QR that students scan with their own phones to check in. It refreshes automatically.
  • Scan student QR — the device camera scans each student’s personal QR code and marks them in one by one.

Both modes show a live "Just checked in" feed and a running "X of Y checked in" count. Buttons let you jump to manual attendance, exit the kiosk (session stays live), or end the session.

Switch this session's QR mode

From the kiosk you can flip just this session's check-in code between Static and Rotating (and set the rotation interval), without changing your school-wide default. The teacher running their own session, or an owner, can do this.
