Subjects, credits and weight class
Create subjects, assign teachers, and set credits and weighting.
A Subject is a course taught within a class, such as Mathematics. Each subject belongs to one class and is taught by one or more teachers.
Create a subject
- Open Subjects from the sidebar.
- Click "+ New subject".
- Enter a subject name (e.g. "Mathematics").
- Choose the Class it belongs to.
- Optionally set Credits and a Weight class.
- Select at least one teacher from the list.
- Click "Create".
Credits
Credits weight a subject in a credit-based GPA: subjects worth more credits count more toward the overall GPA, and total credits appear on the transcript. If left blank, a subject counts as 1 credit where credits apply.
Weight class
Weight class marks a subject as Regular, Honors, AP or IB. Under a High school profile this adds a GPA bonus for Honors/AP/IB courses. Under College it has no effect (grading is unweighted), and it does not apply to K-8 or to weighted-average systems.
Note: Credits and weight class only affect the numbers in credit/GPA grading systems (United States, High school and College levels). For International, UK and Europe they are cosmetic.
