Building your own grading system
Customise bands, points, credits, thresholds and labels.
If none of the presets fit, owners can build a custom grading system in Settings under Grading system. Start from a preset to load its values, then edit and save.
What you can configure
- System label — the name of your system.
- Aggregation — weighted average, or GPA with credits.
- Uses credits — whether subjects carry credits.
- Term structure — Year, Semester or Quarter.
- Max score — the highest mark a teacher can enter.
- Scale bands — rows of minimum, maximum, grade name and points. Leave empty for a plain numeric system.
- Thresholds — the passing and honor-roll marks.
- Labels — what to call the overall figure, the transcript and credits.
Rules to keep in mind
- The maximum score must be a positive number.
- If you use bands, they must start at 0, not overlap, increase in order, and have unique grade names within the max score.
- A GPA-with-credits system must give points for every band.
Note: Any change applies across the school. Study year Levels still select the matching profile, so set them on the Grades page.
