The gradebook and adding marks
Record marks by subject and see each student’s average.
The Gradebook is organised by subject. Pick a subject at the top of the page to see all its students, their recorded marks, and their average (plus a letter grade for systems that use letters).
Add or edit a mark
- Open Gradebook and choose the subject.
- On a student’s row, click "+ Add mark" (or click an existing mark to edit it).
- Enter the mark value, choose a type, set a weight, and optionally a date and note.
- Save. To edit later, open the mark again; you can also delete it there.
Mark types and weights
A mark’s type can be Test, Oral, Homework, Project or Exam. The weight sets how much a mark counts — 1 is normal, 2 counts double, and so on. Weight is per mark, so a big exam is simply entered with a higher weight.
How the average is worked out
A student’s subject average is a weighted average of their marks: each mark value is multiplied by its weight, added up, and divided by the total weight.
Note: The gradebook is included on every plan. You can record marks for subjects you teach; owners can record for any subject.
