Roles: Owner, Teacher & Student
The three roles at a glance and what each can do.
Every member of a school has a role. There are three roles: Owner, Teacher and Student.
Owner
Owners run the school. They can do everything: manage people and academics, take and edit attendance, view all reports, change school settings, invite members and manage billing. The person who creates a school is its first owner.
Teacher
Teachers focus on their own teaching. By default a teacher can take attendance for their sessions, run reports for the classes and students they teach, and use the gradebook for their subjects. Teachers do not manage school settings or billing.
Student
Students see only their own information — their own attendance, their own marks and reports, and their timetable. A student can never see another student's data or any staff-only screen. They appear only on the Students roster, never on the Teachers page.
Note: A role is always granted by the school — you never pick your own role when signing up. The Owner decides who is a Teacher and who is a Student, and can move a person between Teacher and Student at any time. See "Roles & permissions explained".
